Over the last few years we have
produced a wide variety of programmes for different clients.
Some of their comments and our own take on the productions
should give a flavour of our approach to individual projects...

NHS: "421 grasped the concept of Single
Patient Assessment and were able to create a narrative
to explain it. An extremely useful training video was
the result."
- NHS staff and a group of actors enabled
us to shoot this in one day.

Talkwise and Connect: "Sexually
transmitted disease and teenage pregnancy is a problem
which needs sensitive handling. 421's training video is
an award winning production and part of our schools' educational
programme."
- We involved teenagers to
get a feel for what they felt would help get over the
key messages.

Social Services, Blackpool carers: "You
are the only company we have interviewed for our film
about carers who really understood the needs of carers."
- Maybe this was a result of
attending carers meetings before designing the film.

Morecambe Bay Hospitals and Primary Care Trusts:
"Putting the salient points of a full day induction
course into a very watchable and informative 30-minute
programme was a feat in itself."
- We interviewed 24 senior NHS staff
for their input and were guided by an enthusiastic training
manager throughout production. He enjoyed the experience
too.

Peter Taylor, Barrow Mill Manager, Kimberly Clark:
"I am delighted how things have come out-thanks
for your efforts."
- Kimberly Clark, a Health and Hygiene
Company and the largest tissue manufacturer in the world
commissioned 4 films, 2 induction videos, a promotional
film and a training film. Delivered on DVD and incorporated
into the in-house computerised training system these were
much appreciated by the management of the mill in Barrow-in-Furness.

Health Visitors Barrow-in-Furness: "We
expected the babies to be a real handful, but they were
wonderful, even when being filmed under your lights."
- "Never work with children and
animals" has been ignored in productions with children
from 3 months old up to university age.

Schools Advisors, LEA: "Using
split screen made it possible for teachers to observe
both the teacher and pupils - an invaluable training aid."
- Having two cameramen used to working
with children was a real asset in this production - school
dinners brought back a flood of memories.

Director of Communications, Blackburn with Darwen
Borough Council: "We asked residents
of the borough for feedback after the launch of the film.
97% found it both enjoyable and useful. Many were not
aware of just what the council are doing."
- Several weeks of research, 10 days shooting, a lengthy
edit, 6 3D animated fly through movies of future projects,
two days shooting with a signer from a local society for
the deaf and recording of an audio description has resulted
in a DVD and CD together with a web site which provides
all the information the council needed and at the same
time fulfils the requirement for inclusivity.

Visible Communications: "We have developed
a great way of working with 421 who can shoot and edit
a 50-minute programme of signed Bible stories in a remarkably
short space of time."
We are currently half way through the
Gospel of Luke and have another four programmes to complete.
Putting something back into the community is rewarding.
